Josh Harris and his investment group have officially submitted their $6.05 billion bid to purchase the Washington Commanders.

The league will review the matter and will make a decision along with other team owners, but there’s still another agent in play.

Former NBA player Brian Davis has a $7 billion bid in place.

But given the skepticism he’s been met with, he’s decided to go on the record and explain where the money is coming from.

Davis was previously a minority owner of MLS’s DC United.

Now, he claims the capital to acquire the team is coming from private investors, and not much more.

He shut down the rumors of potential Saudi funding, stating that all investors are domestic.

“That capital is coming from private investors who are located here in America who are domestic,” Davis said. “I have a great amount of respect for the Saudi Arabian people and Arab people in Islam in general. I love them. But the money’s not Saudi Arabian and I’ve never been to Saudi Arabia in my life.”

Davis doesn’t come with an immaculate business record, though.

NBA legend Scottie Pippen sued him and fellow Duke teammate Christian Laettner for failure to repay a loan after they attempted — and failed — to buy the Memphis Grizzlies.

Davis, though, acknowledges he made some mistakes but adds that he didn’t file for bankruptcy and actually sold his assets to pay everyone back.

Several media members still don’t think he’s got the money to actually pay for the team, which is why his bid hasn’t been taken as seriously as others.

Now, the clock is ticking as the league reviews Harris’ bid, so he’ll have to work around the clock to try and convince Dan Snyder, Bank of America, and the public opinion that he can actually pull this off and, more importantly, have enough funds to operate the team.
