There are three or four high-level quarterback prospects that people have been raving about as the 2023 NFL Draft nears.
One of them is Anthony Richardson of the University of Florida, who reportedly impressed a number of teams during the interview process at last month’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Still, he is widely considered only the third-best QB prospect behind Bryce Young of Alabama and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.
But analyst Danny Kanell thinks extremely highly of Richardson’s potential.
“You could have a QB who throws the ball better than Lamar Jackson and runs better than Josh Allen.”

Kanell said he has the strongest arm and is the most “electric runner” of any QB in this year’s draft, which led the analyst to say he could end up being a better passer than Lamar Jackson and a better rusher than Josh Allen.
However, Kanell added that he feels there’s only a 20 percent chance that Richardson realizes his upside due to the inconsistent play he dealt with in college.
The 6-foot-4, 236-pound signal-caller threw for 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns while adding 654 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground last season, but he completed an anemic 53.8 percent of his passes in 2022 and 54.7 percent of them through his three-year career with the Gators.
However, it should be noted that Allen had a completion rate of 56.2 percent in three years at the University of Wyoming, only to pick it up significantly in that category over the last three years with the Buffalo Bills.
The question is which team will end up taking Richardson — will it be the Indianapolis Colts, who have the No. 4 pick and are in need of an upgrade from the 37-year-old Matt Ryan, or could he fall further?
