It’s the dawn of a new era for the Green Bay Packers, as Aaron Rodgers is now officially a New York Jet.

And while this news wasn’t much of a surprise to those who have been following the NFL offseason, it’s still odd to see him donning a different jersey.

That’s why former teammate James Jones claimed that he had some mixed emotions about Rodgers leaving the team, as he wanted to see him play for the organization throughout his entire career.

James Jones reacts to Aaron Rodgers finally being traded to the Jets:

“I had a little mix emotions… I wanted to see my dog play his whole career in Green Bay… I am excited for both parties.”

Even so, he claims to be happy for everybody involved and believes this will have a positive outcome for both organizations and Rodgers as well.

The Packers will now finally get to see what they have on their hands with Jordan Love, who’s been somewhat unimpressive in limited opportunities.

The front office and coaching staff have raved about his development throughout the offseason, and some believe he was ready to force his way out and pursue a starting job somewhere else if Rodgers wasn’t traded.

As for the Jets, they’ll now be a legit Super Bowl contender.

They were an average QB away from being a playoff team last season, so adding a future first-ballot Hall of Famer to their already-impressive squad makes them the team to beat in the AFC East.

Last but not least, Rodgers will get a fresh start and a chance to shake off his postseason woes and become a legend for an ever-struggling franchise, so this was indeed a potential win-win trade for every party involved.
