After an incredible Game 7 performance by four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors will continue their title defense in the second round by going up against LeBron James and the red-hot Los Angeles Lakers.
The Warriors were given all they could handle in their first-round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings, and the competition likely won’t get any easier against a Lakers squad that crushed the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the series-clinching Game 6.
Despite having to go through the Play-in Tournament to get into the NBA playoffs, the Lakers have proven to be better than expected in the postseason thus far, with Anthony Davis playing like the best defensive player in the league and James continuing to keep Father Time at bay.
Even though the Lakers are playing at an incredibly high level, the defending champions are favored to come out on top in this second-round playoff series, according to NBA on ESPN.

Unlike in years past, the NBA playoffs have been incredibly unpredictable, with upsets galore in both the Western and Eastern Conferences.
The Lakers and Warriors were both the lower seed in the first round and were able to come out on top.
Although the Warriors are the favorites to start this second-round playoff series, that could quickly change as the two Western Conference heavyweights feel themselves out in Game 1 and Game 2 in San Francisco at the Chase Center.
The Warriors have an ideal opportunity to take control of this series before it shifts to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for Game 3.
