The Golden State Warriors kept their title defense alive on Sunday, with Stephen Curry and company getting the best of an outstanding Sacramento Kings team led by De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

As, without a doubt, the most entertaining and competitive matchup in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Kings weren’t giving an inch to the defending NBA champions leading to a winner-take-all Game 7 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

Even though the Kings proved to everyone that their success in the regular season was no fluke, Sacramento saw one of the greatest players in the history of the league have arguably his best playoff performance to advance to the second round.

Curry put on a show by dropping a playoff career-high 50 points, which is the most points in a Game 7 in league history, according to NBA Central.

With this incredible performance in the books and the Warriors advancing to the second round, the defending champions will now face a hungry Los Angeles Lakers squad led by the ageless LeBron James.

The Lakers made easy work of the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, as they crushed Ja Morant’s squad by 40 in Game 6 in order to advance to the next round to set up an epic showdown with the Warriors.

If Curry can continue to play out of his mind, the Lakers will have an incredibly difficult time containing the future Hall of Famer.
