The Los Angeles Lakers have put together one of the most competitive and well-rounded rosters in the league.
More importantly, they’ve put themselves in a position to keep most of their key guys for the foreseeable future.
That’s why Shannon Sharpe doesn’t think they’ll go after Kyrie Irving in the offseason, as some rumors state.
.@ShannonSharpe doesn’t see the Lakers signing Kyrie Irving in the offseason:

It’s not a secret that Irving and LeBron James have been interested in a reunion for quite a while now.
More than that, James openly admitted to being disappointed when the team failed to trade Russell Westbrook for Irving.
But that was before the Lakers put together this roster, and even if they don’t manage to go the distance this season, this team has developed a strong rapport on the court and could only need a couple of tweaks to fulfill its potential as a championship-caliber team.
Adding Irving to the mix would give them another ball-dominant player.
He already knows what it takes to play next to LeBron.
Then again, he has a long history of wreaking havoc wherever he goes, and it’s not like he’s going to take a pay cut just to play with LeBron again.
Irving has often been a distraction, and dealing with the Los Angeles market might not be ideal.
Also, he’s expressed his desire to continue his partnership with Luka Doncic, assuming the Dallas Mavericks are willing to keep him on board for the long run.
So, all things considered, it would be hard to envision him in purple and gold.
