At the end of last season, the Los Angeles Angels were packing their bags, having missed the postseason for the eighth consecutive year.
The St. Louis Cardinals won the NL Central and weren’t packing their bags until after they were eliminated by the Philadelphia Phillies.
While the postseason is still months away, the two teams appear to have switched places.
The Angels have won seven of their last 10 games and ran their winning streak up to four games on Thursday, completing a sweep of the slumping Cardinals, who now have the worst record in the National League.
On Twitter, the Halos poked a little fun at the Cardinals after completing the sweep.

One might say that a series sweep was “in the cards” for the Angels.
For the Cardinals, not so much.
But with their win, the Angels pulled into a tie with the Toronto Blue Jays for the third Wild Card spot in the American League.
The Angels fell into an early 2-0 hole against St. Louis, but quickly battled back and scored 11 runs before St. Louis began to chip away.
The Angels held on to win by a final score of 11-7 and move into second place in the AL West.
But their tweet was a not-so-subtle jab at the Cardinals, who have been performing poorly all season long and haven’t been at the .500 mark since April 4.
The Angels gave the Cards their ninth loss in the last 10 games and knocked them to 12 games below the .500 mark for the first time since 1999.
