The incredible playoff run for the Miami Heat has officially come to an end, with Jimmy Butler and company unable to get the best of Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Game 5, resulting in the NBA Finals coming to an end on Monday night in the Mile High City.

Although the season has come to an end for the Heat, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra couldn’t be prouder of his team that defied the odds from the Play-in Tournament all the way up to the Finals.

The Heat were the ultimate underdog in this NBA postseason and beat some of the best teams in the league while paving their path to the Finals to face a very good Nuggets team led by arguably the best player in the NBA.

In his postgame press conference on Monday night, Spoelstra delivered this powerful message via ESPN.

With the Heat proving to be a legitimate force to be reckoned with while having Butler and Bam Adebayo leading the way, Miami will likely be back in the mix next season, with perhaps a big chip on their shoulder.

The interesting part of the Heat’s offseason will be what moves can be made to bolster their roster, with superstar guard Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers already saying he’d love to play for the franchise if traded.

If the Heat can add Lillard to the roster without gutting the team, Miami will be a scary sight for any opponent next season and possibly the favorite to come out on top in the Eastern Conference.
