It has been an incredibly busy NBA offseason for the lowly Washington Wizards, with the struggling franchise finally making some game-changing moves, which could result in turning the team around in the coming years.
The Wizards moved on from two of their best players this summer, with the team trading its franchise player, Bradley Beal, to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Chris Paul and dealing forward Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics.
Washington wasn’t looking for a substantial return in these two deals in terms of trading stars for stars, but the team was able to acquire talented scorer Jordan Poole from the Golden State Warriors by sending Paul to the Bay Area.
With the dust finally settling on the trades the team has made this summer, Poole suited up in a Wizards uniform for the first time, via NBA on ESPN.

The summer haul for the Wizards includes Poole, Tyus Jones, and the return of Kyle Kuzma on a long-term deal.
Clearly, the Wizards don’t plan to contend for a title anytime soon, with this roster not exactly striking fear into the hearts of their opponents heading into the 2023-24 NBA season.
However, the Wizards are heading in a new direction and appear content with the moves they’ve made this offseason, with hopes of potentially being playoff bound or at least flirting with the notion of a postseason berth next season.
Although Kuzma is arguably the leader of this team moving forward, Poole will have a chance to prove his worth as a potential No. 1 option in Washington, and it’ll be interesting to see how that unfolds.
