The New York Jets have been the biggest winners of the NFL offseason thus far.

They already had a solid team on both sides of the field, and added a future Hall-of-Famer at the most crucial position in the game by trading for Aaron Rodgers.

They’re stacked with talent at almost every position, but the rich always get richer.

According to a report by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk (via Paul Andrew Esden Jr.), the Jets could continue to add more talent to that already impressive core, as they’re “gaining momentum” to sign Dalvin Cook.

SWEET LORD HAVE MERCY: @ProFootballTalk said the #Jets have been ‘gaining momentum’ on the Dalvin Cook (@dalvincook) front heading towards training camp, ‘the Jets are a team that I was aware of as a potential destination for Cook weeks before he was actually cut’ + another… pic.twitter.com/rGMeQfiFlI

Some might say that they don’t actually need Cook because they already have Breece Hall, but that shouldn’t stop them from getting him.

While Hall is obviously the future of the team and should handle most of the touches, he’s still coming off a major injury, and adding Cook to the mix would give the Jets an elite insurance policy to bring their star RB back to the mix slowly.

He could also mentor him and be a bit of a change-of-pace kind of running back, giving the Jets one of the best tandems in the game for at least one season.

The Jets know their Super Bowl window might not be open for long, which is why they must capitalize on it while Rodgers is still in town and at his best.

Cook, on the other hand, knows they’ll give him the best shot at winning a ring among all teams reportedly interested in his services.
