Ben Roethlisberger was a staple of the Pittsburgh Steelers offense for many years.
His on-field play kept the Steelers in the playoff race nearly every year as a starter.
The team has been in hot pursuit of finding a franchise star like him after his retirement, but they haven’t found someone to replace him in that way.
Kenny Pickett has not been their answer, which is why they signed Russell Wilson, who will hopefully be able to thrive in his new destination.
While some fans and analysts are optimistic about the Wilson signing, Nick Wright isn’t so sure.
Wright recently appeared on “First Things First,” where he outlined the quarterback play in the AFC North, ultimately saying, “The Steelers still have the worst QB situation in the division.”
“Russell Wilson is not good anymore. … Kenny Pickett is not even a fringe starter. Russ, at this point in his career, is a fringe starter. … The Steelers still have the worst QB situation in the division.”

Saying the Steelers have a worse quarterback situation than the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens makes sense, a take that not many people would argue with.
Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are in the conversation of top-five quarterbacks in the league.
Wright’s take includes the Cleveland Browns, who have Deshaun Watson as their starter, although he has dealt with injuries over the past few years, making it difficult for him to be on the field as much as the team would like.
With that uncertainty in mind, he still thinks the Steelers have a worse situation with Pickett and Wilson.
Fans are anxious to see what Wilson can do in his new home and if he can revitalize his career in a completely different situation.
