James Harden’s NBA legacy is a complicated one.
He’s burned bridges everywhere he’s gone, and outside of some Houston Rockets fans, he might not have a big fan base in the league.
Nonetheless, some of his former teammates have always had high praise for him, and he’s clearly bonded with some of them.
That was evident when he shared a picture of himself, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, alongside Tyrese Maxey when he faced the Philadelphia 76ers (via Aidan LaPorta).

Notably, Harden was instrumental in boosting Maxey’s development.
The Kentucky guard took a huge leap as a scorer and a playmaker, and he picked Harden’s brain as soon as he arrived in the City of Brotherly Love.
Ironically, Maxey’s surge also paved the way for Daryl Morey to deal with the fact that the Sixers could be better off without Harden, especially at this point in his career.
Harden forced his way out of Philadelphia and, again, didn’t handle things the best way, leading to some backlash and criticism from the fan base.
But regardless of how things went down, it’s clear that he cherishes his time in Philly and still has some love for the guys he used to play with.
Once it’s all said and done, it would be impossible to deny Harden’s greatness as a scorer and as an offensive juggernaut.
