Dwight Howard clearly hasn’t given up on his dream of returning to the NBA.

“Playmaker.Nyrie” posted a video online, via NBACentral, that featured a brief appearance from Howard.

“Passing the phone to the only guy that can save the Lakers,” Nyrie said before handing the phone to Howard.

Howard then asked for one more chance in LA and serenaded Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, singing, “Jeanie give me one more chance.”

It’s not clear if Buss will ever see this video and it’s also not obvious what’s next for Howard.

Since leaving the NBA a few years ago, Howard has spent time overseas, playing with the Taoyuan Leopards in 2022-23.

Despite finding some success in foreign markets, Howard has made no secret of his desire to come back to the NBA.

He isn’t just interested in joining the Lakers, either.

He would be happy if he played for any team in the Association.

Howard’s relationship with the Lakers is complicated, to put it gently.

After a dreadful first season with the team back in 2012-13, he moved around the league for many years, playing for other teams like the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and more.

He then came back to the Lakers in 2019-20 and was part of the squad that won the championship.

He spent his final years with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Lakers one more time before becoming a free agent.

Howard hasn’t played in the league since 2022.

He was indeed a very talented NBA big man for many years, despite some troubled stretches, but it seems unlikely that Howard will get signed by the Lakers or another team any time soon.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t stop trying.
