Just about everyone feels the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is over, and they will face some big decisions this summer.
Klay Thompson, their second-best player over the last decade or so, is a free agent, and he isn’t the same player he used to be after tearing his ACL and Achilles a few years ago.
But one thing seems certain: The old guard of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green will remain intact, and head coach Steve Kerr is staying put.
Green was asked whether he would ever be interested in coaching the Warriors after Kerr leaves, and while owner Joe Lacob did have a discussion with him about the possibility, Green says he isn’t interested, per NBC Sports Bay Area.
“Now when I take a second step back when I look at whether it’s front office or whether it’s coaching, if I’m honest with you I have zero interest in either one of them right now,” Green said.

Kerr became Golden State’s head coach for the 2014-15 season, and he instantly took a team that had merely been good and turned it into a huge powerhouse.
That year, Golden State won 67 regular-season games and their first of four NBA championships under him, and Kerr unlocked their potential by instituting a fast-paced offense that is based around ball and player movement while also making them into an elite defensive team.
He recently agreed to a lucrative contract extension that runs through the 2025-26 season and lines up with Curry’s contract.
Green is under contract through the 2026-27 season, and with none of the three going anywhere anytime soon, there have been whispers that the Warriors may try to take a big swing and land a legitimate star this summer.
However, they have little trade capital, and thus it looks like Golden State’s dynasty will slowly decompose.
