Being an NBA star has plenty of perks, but fame and generational wealth also come with major demands.
Of course, no one questions the relentless work these guys put in to be ready and in top-notch shape night in and night out, and they’re freaks of nature that deserve all the praise in the world.
However, being the best player on one of the most popular teams in the league is a heavy burden, and people will judge you accordingly.
That’s why the fans have often been so ruthless to Jayson Tatum.
Recently, NBA analyst Tim Legler defended the Boston Celtics star, stating that he’s way better than people give him credit for.
Talking on “Get Up,” he pointed out that Tatum has had impressive averages not only in the regular season but in the playoffs as well, and while he acknowledged that he’s missed some big shots, he’s also made several of them.

Legler stated that his getting outplayed by Stephen Curry in the NBA Finals also hurt his reputation.
Then again, it’s Curry we’re talking about; he’s going to outplay 9 out of 10 players 99 out of 100 times.
The truth about Tatum is that he’s only judged that way because of how incredibly talented he is; otherwise, why would people expect anything else from him?
It’s not about the great teams or easy roads to the Eastern Conference Finals he’s always had; it all has to do with his notorious talent and how his impact in the playoffs is usually far from the impact he has in the regular season.
