The Chicago Bears are slated to look a lot different in 2024 than they did in 2023.
This organization has spent a lot of money and draft capital on re-arranging this team, and with any luck, their hard work will come to fruition.
One of the most important pieces to any rebuild is a solid quarterback.
In today’s NFL, if a team doesn’t have a reliable player under center, it is nearly impossible for them to make a deep playoff run.
The Bears know this based on their past few seasons of frustration and selected Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick as a result.
Williams is one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in recent history, and if his pre-draft hype turns into tangible success, the Bears could surprise a lot of people next season.
Of course, with a new quarterback also comes growing pains at times.
Players can be spectacular collegiate prospects, but the NFL is an entirely different beast.
Williams apparently had a tough practice in the first few days of OTAs, but according to reporter Dave BFR on Twitter, he is getting some help and advice from veteran players.
Kevin Byard, a new safety for the Bears, apparently had a good word for Williams after this performance.
Byard told Williams, “Days like today are going to make you better.”

Byard wanted to make sure Williams knew that he might struggle at times, but it doesn’t mean that he’s a bad player.
Young quarterbacks like Williams need to have confidence in themselves, and encouragement like this can go a long way.
