An NBA team can only find true success in the league if they have a strong backcourt that gives them a lot of points during every game.
Right now, there are several great backcourts throughout the Association but what are the best of all time?
On Friday’s “Get Up,” Mike Greenberg listed his five best offensive NBA backcourts since the merger.
He started things off with Chris Paul and James Harden of the Houston Rockets, speaking about all that could have been if those two stayed together.
Greenberg followed that up with Magic Johnson and Byron Scott and then Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars of the Detroit Pistons.
Finally, he chose Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks and then Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors as the best offensive backcourts in modern NBA history.

It’s hard to argue with Greenberg’s ranking of these five duos.
All of these players have done great things for the NBA and two of these pairs are in the league today.
Doncic and Irving are attempting to win their first championship together and, right now, they’re doing quite well.
They just won Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and are hoping to steal another victory on the road in Game 2.
As for Curry and Thompson, they are still together but everyone is wondering for how much longer.
There are many rumors about the duo’s future, particularly that of Thompson, following the disappointing season they just had.
Will he be leaving the only team he’s ever known and will the Splash Brothers be no more?
No matter what happens, Curry and Thompson have changed the league and they should forever be proud of their accomplishments.
