If the Boston Celtics win the Eastern Conference Finals, it’ll be because they have a well-rounded team with a ton of talent in every way.

And, according to Paul Pierce, it’ll also be because they have “one of the best defensive backcourts in NBA history” with Jrue Holiday and Derrick White.

On Friday’s “Undisputed,” Pierce praised the hard work of those two players while celebrating the team’s other stars.

“This is one of the best defensive backcourts in NBA history.”

Holiday and White were once again terrific in Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.

Holiday scored 15 points and 10 assists while White was good for 23 points and 6 assists.

They are indeed one of the best defensive backcourt duos in the league right now and they have been helping the Celtics stay dominant all season.

Other players, such as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, might get the most headlines, but Holiday and White might be the most crucial parts of the Celtics.

Speaking of Tatum, he went off for 40 points on Thursday night while Tatum posted 23 points.

Many people have talked about the Celtics’ offensive power, particularly their three-point shooting.

But it’s their defensive skills that Pierce was praising on Friday morning.

The Celtics are now up 2-0 in their series against the Pacers and it seems very likely that they could win and move onto the Finals.

If they do, they will be facing an even tougher team, either the Dallas Mavericks or Minnesota Timberwolves.

That means the defensive power of Holiday, White, and the rest of the team will need to shine even brighter if they wish to win a championship.
