Al Horford is finally an NBA champion.

One of the most beloved veterans and biggest fan favorites in the game has done it.

He was on pace to take down Karl Malone’s infamous record for most playoff games without an NBA championship, but he finally put an end to his streak.

Moreover, Horford is now the first Dominican-born player to win a title.

The Puerto Plata native has had an incredible career.

Following an outstanding run at Florida, he made it to the league with high praise as a top-10 pick.

He changed his game and adapted multiple times throughout the course of the years, expanding his range to become a shooter over the past five years or so.

His basketball IQ, passing, and leadership skills have been major factors in Boston.

The former Atlanta Hawks star had brief stops with the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder before returning to Boston, the place he can proudly call home now.

He’s a class act and has defied Father Time multiple times, turning back the clock with massive defensive performances and big-time shots, and his impact goes way beyond the stat sheet.

Known for being the Joel Embiid stopper, Horford will never have to pay for a beer in the city of Boston for as long as he lives.

And even though his numbers aren’t that impressive, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the team hanging his No. 42 jersey in the rafters once it’s all said and done.
