The Boston Celtics recently defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals by winning the series 4-1 to claim their NBA-record 18th championship.

It was their first time winning a title in 16 years.

Many athletes and celebrities from around the world have given their take on the Celtics winning it all.

One of those players is New York Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

“NBA finals doesn’t count this year,” Wilson recently tweeted.

Wilson appears to be joking about how angry he is that the Celtics won.

Now, Wilson plays for a major sports franchise in New York, so could his anger come from the Boston-New York rivalry?

Or, did he have a personal stake in this particular series?

Wilson, despite being born in Chicago, grew up in Austin, Texas, which is about three hours south of Dallas.

Perhaps the former first-round pick grew up a Mavericks fan and doesn’t like that his team lost so easily.

Regardless, this is a funny take on the series.

The Boston Celtics were the most dominant team in the league all year long and capped it off with yet another championship.

The hope for Garrett Wilson and the Jets is that they can possibly do the same in 2024.

With a healthy Aaron Rodgers back under center, a revamped offensive line and a stacked defense at all levels, the sky can be the limit for them.

Rest assured that Wilson could be one of the leaders on the team again this year, both when it comes to numbers and in the locker room.
