The Washington Commanders are one of the more intriguing NFL teams heading into 2024.

They have a new ownership group, a new head coach, and a rookie quarterback under center.

Head coach Dan Quinn’s arrival has made way for No. 2 overall draft pick Jayden Daniels, veteran skill players such as running back Austin Ekeler and tight end Zach Ertz, along with a future Hall of Fame linebacker in Bobby Wagner.

Ekeler recently appeared on Up & Adams to chat about the team’s expectations heading into the year.

“I can’t even think about that (the playoffs)…We’re all trying to win games…We need people to be held accountable,” Ekeler stated.

The 29-year-old is one of the true leaders of this new team.

This franchise has not had success in a long, long time.

They have not had a winning record since 2016.

2005 was the last year that they were able to win a playoff game.

Of course, they haven’t won the Super Bowl since 1991.

This team is starting from the ground up.

They added a bunch of young talent and veteran pieces to their core.

If the former Heisman winner in Daniels becomes who Washington thinks he can be, the future could very well be a bright one.

But as Ekeler said, it is all about building a standard and finding ways to win games.

In 2024, nobody knows what Washington will be, and that might just be the way that the team likes it.
