Amen Thompson Reveals What He’s Bringing To The Rockets

The Houston Rockets weren’t able to land potential superstars like Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson in the 2023 NBA Draft, but they did have the opportunity to draft a solid all-around player in Amen Thompson.

As one half of a talented twin duo with Ausar Thompson, drafted right after him at No. 5 overall by the Detroit Pistons, Amen has high hopes of being the kind of player that can help turn things around for the Rockets.

Thompson was recently asked what he believes he brings to the table for the Rockets and gave the perfect kind of answers that will have new head coach Ime Udoka smiling from ear to ear, via Bradeaux.

Although the team made a great move to upgrade at head coach with the addition of Udoka, the former Boston Celtics head coach will have his hands full in Houston as he begins his second head coaching stint in the NBA.

Thompson is a solid pickup for the team, which is packed with score-first players that might struggle with Udoka’s coaching approach in 2023-24.

The Rockets are a team filled with former first-round draft picks and promising young players with similar skill sets, with Jabari Smith Jr., Jalen Green, Kevin Porter Jr., and Alperen Sengun leading the way in Houston.

Even though it will be a challenge, to say the least, for Udoka to get this team back on the right track with so many young and unproven players, the outspoken coach might be the right person for the job, making next season an interesting one for the Rockets.
