Former NFL star Brandon Marshall caused quite a stir on Monday when he said that he believes the New England Patriots will go after disgruntled Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Although the Patriots going after a high-priced superstar is very uncharacteristic of the franchise, New England may take a new approach and make the bold move to acquire the former NFL MVP.
ESPN’s Mina Kimes did some digging and found Patriots head coach Bill Belichick talking about Jackson back in the fall.

Belichick is notoriously a man of few words in these press conferences, and he didn’t disappoint in this one, even though it was funny.
Suppose Belichick ultimately signs off on the Patriots acquiring or trying to acquire Jackson. In that case, it will be an interesting direction for the team in the post-Tom Brady era.
Jackson is a massive upgrade over Mac Jones, who was a Pro Bowler in his rookie season but took a step back last year with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels leaving to be the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the 2023 NFL Draft about a month away on April 27, seeing how things pan out with Jackson will be interesting.
The fact that Jackson admitted to asking the Baltimore Ravens to trade him on Monday definitely makes things interesting, as he may finally be done with the franchise after being unable to come to terms on a new contract.
The Patriots wanting Jackson is an interesting move, but whether they are willing to pay his price remains to be seen.
