Analyst Makes A Big Projection For Dak Prescott, Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have a decent 5-3 record this season, but they have had an inability to beat prominent teams so far this year.

They got destroyed, 42-10, by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, and on Sunday, they fell just short in the final seconds to the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, 28-23.

But a number of people still believe Dallas is a threat that will have to be accounted for this winter.

In fact, James Jones said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that they can reach the Super Bowl if quarterback Dak Prescott plays well.

Prescott played very poorly against the Niners, but since then, he has rebounded, at least somewhat.

In Dallas’ Week 8 win over the Los Angeles Rams, he completed 25 of 31 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns, and on Sunday versus Philly, he was 29 of 44 for 374 yards and three touchdowns.

The big narrative and concern about Prescott is how underwhelming he plays in big games and big moments, and the end of Sunday’s game was another reminder.

With the Cowboys in the red zone with less than 30 seconds left, he got sacked for an 11-yard loss, then on the next snap, they were called for a delay of game violation when the play clock expired right before the football was snapped.

But as Jones noted, their defense is very strong, and that defense can take them very far, as long as Prescott finishes the job on the other side of the football by playing up to his ability in the playoffs.
