The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new quarterback, something fans have been clamoring for since Ben Roethlisberger’s departure.

Yes, there was some initial excitement surrounding Kenny Pickett, but for the most part, his play has been uninspiring.

After seeing Russell Wilson sign with the team, there is some optimism about his role in this offense, especially considering the Steelers have a minimal financial investment in him.

However, this optimism isn’t a widely-cast net.

When discussing the upcoming Steelers’ season with his colleagues on The Carton Show, David Jacoby indicated that Wilson could struggle with his new team.

“I expect the Steelers to be last in the division,” Jacoby said.

The Steelers finished the 2023 season with a 10-7 record, the third-best record in the division.

They narrowly missed the playoffs last year with inconsistencies on their roster, especially at quarterback.

While Wilson’s addition might indicate that the Steelers will only improve moving forward, Jacoby doesn’t see it that way.

The AFC North will be mightily improved in 2024, especially if Joe Burrow returns fully healthy.

The Baltimore Ravens aren’t going anywhere, and judging by the Cleveland Browns’ finish to the year, they are hungry to make a deep postseason push next season.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and whether Wilson’s presence on this team truly impacts the Steelers.

Wilson sought after a new team to try and get his career back on track, and the Steelers have a lot of young, talented skill-position players that might be able to help him achieve greatness in his first season.
