Analyst Questions Why Klay Thompson Felt Disrespected With Warriors

Back in 2019, the Golden State Warriors made a decision they absolutely had to make.

They gave Klay Thompson a big contract despite the fact that he had just gotten hurt and was likely to miss the entire first season of that deal.

Despite that injury, Thompson would’ve still likely found plenty of value around the league, as he was already a three-time NBA champion, an elite backcourt defender, and one of the greatest shooters the game has ever seen; he had earned that money.

Little did they know that Thompson would then suffer another season-ending injury, and he wouldn’t be the same player again.

Considering that, some think the Warriors had already done more than enough for Thompson, which is why he had no business feeling disrespected by them.

Notably, that includes NBA analyst Justin Termine.

Talking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, he stated that as much as he loved Thompson, the Warriors couldn’t do much more for him at this point.

There are two sides to every story, and this isn’t the exception to that rule.

The Warriors made Thompson an offer they thought was fair, and Thompson respectfully declined and decided to bet on himself.

Bets don’t always pan out.

Still, we don’t know how things went down behind closed doors.

Perhaps Thompson didn’t care for the language or the approach by the Warriors during negotiations.

Perhaps the Warriors did everything they could.

At the end of the day, the fact of the matter is that Klay is gone.
