The New England Patriots entered the offseason with several questions to answer.
After another down year by the organization’s standards, the team made several significant changes, including replacing Bill Belichick as head coach.
The Patriots also moved on from Mac Jones as their starting quarterback, presumably to make room for an incoming rookie.
While there are a lot of moving pieces, the Patriots recently locked down veteran defender Kyle Dugger to a four-year, $58 million deal, a contract that Tom E. Curran and Phil Perry discussed at length in a recent conversation shared by NBC Sports Boston on Twitter.
“I think this is a good culture move… In terms of what you want to be as a football team, that’s a good guy you try to model that after,” Curran said.

Dugger has played for the Patriots for his entire career to this point, and it appears that the organization wanted to lock him down for the foreseeable future.
He has been a great leader to his fellow teammates, which is a big reason that Curran and Perry were excited about the extension.
In the face of adversity and change, teams need a leader to step up and make an impact on the people around them.
They believe Dugger can continue to do this for the Patriots as they continue to re-vamp and re-tool their roster.
The on-field efforts haven’t been what this team is used to, but with a few key changes and mindset shifts, there’s no telling what they can do down the stretch.
