Andre Iguodala Gets Honest On Jordan Poole’s Role With Warriors Last Season

The Golden State Warriors’ season didn’t get off to the best start.

Jordan Poole getting into it with Draymond Green was a bad omen of what was about to come.

Multiple reports state that Poole changed his attitude and the way he handled himself around the veterans when he signed that big contract.

While that doesn’t condone what Green did by any means, it obviously fractured their relationship, and Poole’s effort — or lack thereof — became a big issue.

Looking back, Andre Iguodala admitted to J.J. Redick on the Old Man & The Three that he actually used to call him out, stating that it seemed like he was ‘trying not to try.’

Iguodala added that he loves Poole to death, and praised him for winning Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals for them, and he tried to explain where that resentment was coming from.

Apparently, Poole didn’t care for the fact that Draymond, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson had a green light to take over the game when they felt like they had to, and he didn’t.

He was the second-leading scorer on the team, and being an emotional human being, he felt like he had earned that right, claims Iguodala.

At the end of the day, he needed to earn his stripes, just like everybody else in the league.

Poole wasn’t to blame for what happened, but he wasn’t as mature as the Warriors hoped he’d be after giving him such a big contract in the offseason.
