You know how things go in the NBA.

Whoever wins gets bragging rights, and Anthony Edwards is going to make the most of that.

The Minnesota Timberwolves rallied on defense to secure the largest comeback win in a Game 7 in NBA history, taking down the reigning NBA champions with a defensive masterclass.

That’s why, following the win, the former No. 1 pick claimed that he had Jamal Murray in handcuffs (via Ben Golliver).

Of course, Murray — who struggled with injuries throughout the course of the entire series — finished the game with 35 points on 13-of-27 from the floor, so perhaps he wasn’t in handcuffs after all.

Then again, he did score just 11 points in the second half, and Edwards picked up the defensive intensity there.

Edwards scored just 16 points and struggled mightily from the field in the first half, but his team rallied behind his defensive prowess and took care of business.

The Timberwolves held the Nuggets to just 37 points in the second half of the game, outscoring them 60-37 to secure an eight-point win.

These teams have developed a bit of a rivalry over the past couple of years, and this is just going to add more fuel to that fire.

Murray is a bit of a trash-talker himself and a fierce competitor, so these comments are definitely not going to go unnoticed.

Perhaps it was a little payback after Murray’s antics in Game 2 when he threw a towel onto the court, or perhaps it was just a friendly jab.

Whatever the case, Murray is going to be right back at him next season.
