Bob Myers Shares His Thoughts On Draymond Green Situation

Bob Myers was General Manager of the Golden State Warriors for years and helped mold and lead the team to four championships.

He knows a lot about the players and staff on the team and is still close to many of them.

Speaking to The Athletic, Myers discussed how he would have handled the latest Draymond Green suspension.

According to Myers, he would have been very direct with Green.

“If that’s me, I’m saying, ‘That’s it, you’ve made your mistake in Game 10, so now you can’t make any more,’” Myers said.

This is a good approach to the current Green situation and it’s also possible that it is one that the team has already pursued.

The other day, head coach Steve Kerr didn’t defend Green’s actions and instead said that the five-game suspension was fair and that Green deserved it.

This is a bit of a different tune for Kerr, who has repeatedly defended Green in the past.

It had some people wondering if Golden State’s front office was really upset by Green’s chokehold on Rudy Gobert and if Kerr’s response was really speaking for the entire team.

Some even suggested that Kerr’s words were something of a warning to Green, telling him to not repeat this mistake again.

The season is very young and there are many games to play but Green will likely mind his manners a lot more for the rest of it.

This latest suspension was lengthy and if he does something like this again, the next one will be even longer.

The press that he has received from this has been resoundingly bad and the suspension has also come at a time when the Warriors need him.

Loyal fans of the team want Green to step up and truly be a team player again.
