Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has made numerous headlines over the last few months following his trade request.
Harden is apparently done with the 76ers and is missing practice sessions with the team during the preseason.
While Harden has indeed demanded a trade from the 76ers, not showing up to team practices is certainly highly unprofessional behavior from the former NBA MVP.
NBA analyst Chris Broussard warned Harden about his antics by using examples of former players like Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony, via “First Things First” on Twitter.
“This could be James Harden’s last season in the league if he doesn’t straighten up,” Broussard said.
“When Allen Iverson & Melo were roughly 34, they were out of the league prematurely bc they couldn’t accept who they were at that point. This could be James Harden’s last season in the league if he doesn’t straighten up.”

It’s true that Iverson was out of the league after turning 34 years old, and while Anthony also found himself without a team for almost a season when he was 34 years old as well, the same cannot be said for Harden.
A major difference between them is the fact that Harden is still an elite player.
He averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game last season.
Sure, Harden’s behavior is extremely unprofessional, but to claim that he may be out of the league next year is absurd.
Moreover, the recent rumors suggest that the 76ers and Clippers have indulged in trade talks over Harden.
If the two sides can agree to a fair deal for both sides, Harden will find himself with a new team ahead of the 2023-24 season.
