Chris Jones Shares Cryptic Message Amid Chiefs Contract Dispute

The Kansas City Chiefs have found success because of their offense, but that doesn’t mean their defense hasn’t been a big part of the equation as well.

That’s why they need to make sure to do right by star DT Chris Jones, who’s currently holding out as he reportedly looks to get an Aaron Donald-type of deal.

Jones has been nowhere to be found during the team’s training camp, and he made the rounds on social media by sharing a rather cryptic message on his IG story, citing a quote by Marcus Aurelius (via The Kingdom).

Jones has revamped the Chiefs’ front four and is one of the best players in the league by a significant margin.

He didn’t show up to training camp despite the major financial implications it could have, as he’s facing fines of $50,000 per day for not partaking in the team’s activities.

That means he could be looking at well over $400,000 in fines

Even so, that could end up being just pocket change if his new deal is what he wants, and the Chiefs would be wise to try and reach an agreement with him sooner rather than later.

The Chiefs have been vocal about their desire to keep him there for the long run, and he also made it clear that he’s looking forward to being a defensive force next season, so we’ll have to keep a close eye on this story as the preseason keeps getting closer.
