The Philadelphia Eagles may have gotten the best player in the NFL Draft.

Georgia Star Jalen Carter slipped to the No. 9 spot, and even though there were plenty of red flags about him, he was just too much of a talent to pass on.

That’s why Colin Cowherd believes the Eagles did the right thing by moving up to get him, regardless of all the outside noise.

The Eagles get the best pure talent in the draft at number 9. The Eagles get to Super Bowls. Generally don’t love moving up in a weaker draft but this is worth the risk to me.

Notably, the Eagles could actually afford to take such a big swing on a guy like him.

They’re already a stacked team with plenty of talent on both sides of the football, so it’s not like they’re banking their success on him.

But if he turns out to be nearly half as good as he could be, then they landed a superstar at a discount price.

GM Howie Roseman has made a strong case for being the best at his job.

He revamped the Eagles’ roster last season and turned them into one of the teams to beat in the league, and he clearly loves those Georgia Bulldogs.

Carter will be reunited with several former teammates and will get to play for a team that has a chip on its shoulder after last season’s Super Bowl loss.

That should be more than enough for him to find his way and focus solely on what matters, which is playing football.

Carter’s off-field behavior should no longer be a distraction, and you better know Eagles fans will hold him accountable if his work ethic isn’t up to their standards.
