Taking down the reigning champions is always a big deal but it’s an even bigger deal for Edwards because it comes after his best season yet.

The two-time All-Star averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this year and really embraced a bigger and more important role with his team.

He was terrific all year and really shined brightly during the playoffs.

During the series against the Nuggets, for example, Edwards put up 27.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Edwards’ personality and resilience were on display again and again during the series, including during Sunday’s Game 7.

He was lukewarm in the first half of the game but didn’t lose faith in his abilities and came to life in the second half.

In the end, he scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Numerous people have said that Edwards could be the face of the NBA in the future and this postseason has given them reason to believe that time is coming soon.

The best news of all for Timberwolves fans is that Edwards is still in the postseason and will now face off against the Dallas Mavericks.

That means he has more chances to show off his skills, personality, and why the NBA is so lucky to have him.
