Shaquille Leonard, when healthy, has performed as one of the best defenders in the NFL.
However, after starting just one game for the Indianapolis Colts during the 2022 season, many wondered what his status will be moving forward.
Shane Steichen, the Colts’ new head coach, has recently provided an update about Leonard in a recent interview.
“Shaq has been progressing well,” Steichen said.
Despite these comments about Leonard’s progress, Steichen was quick to add, “I’m not going to put a timetable on his return.”

The Colts’ 2022 season as a whole was plagued with injuries, a major reason that the team finished with a 4-12-1 record.
As they look ahead to 2023, the Colts will undergo massive changes, which begin with a new head coach, and likely, a rookie quarterback.
While the Colts struggled last season, if Leonard enters the 2023 campaign at full health, he should be able to continue to lead the defense.
He will be joined by Zaire Franklin, one of the Colts’ successful linebackers.
The Colts have several unanswered questions ahead of the 2023 season, some of which will be resolved in the draft.
Being that the AFC South has continued to grow, especially due to the rise of Trevor Lawrence, the Colts will need to make necessary changes to keep up.
What else is needed for this roster to grow effectively?
