The Arizona Diamondbacks have been an interesting team to watch so far in the 2023 season.

With April coming to a close, Arizona is 15-12 and leads the NL West by a game over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

While it may not be the most star-studded roster in the game, Arizona has been able to compete due to a variety of factors, such as their speed and baserunning skills.

Corbin Carroll in particular has been quite impressive on the basepaths.

However, his elite speed almost got him into trouble on Friday.

Though he was able to restrain himself, he almost passed Geraldo Perdomo as he was running towards home plate.

The incident took place when Josh Rojas hit one out to center field for a double in the top of the ninth inning.

Fortunately, Carroll was not able to catch or pass Perdomo.

The double ultimately put the game out of reach.

Carroll’s speed is one of the most impressive aspects of his game and it has him in the conversation for the Rookie of the Year Award already.

But it almost got him and the Diamondbacks into some trouble in Colorado.

Carroll is easily one of the fastest players in all of baseball and has the ability to change the outlook of games based on his elite speed.

Fortunately for the D-Backs, there was no issue.

Carroll did not pass Perdomo and the runs counted.

Arizona won the game by a final score of 9-1 to hold their position at the top of the NL West.
