D’Angelo Russell Reacts To His Big Friday Performance

The Los Angeles Lakers have been through a lot of ups and downs during the 2023-24 NBA season.

Despite struggling for the majority of the season, the Lakers are currently enjoying an excellent over the past five games or so.

Following their most recent win against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Purple and Gold now flaunt a 4-1 record in the above-mentioned time frame.

Speaking of the Friday night win, D’Angelo Russell’s scoring brilliance propelled the Lakers to a 139-122 win over the Pelicans.

Russell was asked about how he gets into his offensive rhythm during the postgame conference via Spectrum SportsNet on Twitter.

“I feel nothing. I’m not really thinking about anything… I’ve mentioned flow state a few times… I just kinda get there,” Russell said.

While the reporters expected an in-depth answer about how the Lakers veteran switches his mentality when he has excellent offensive nights, D’Angelo Russell had no such answer prepared for them.

In fact, Russell mentioned that he simply never thinks about it when he is on the court.

Russell finished the game with 30 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists in 40 minutes of playing time during the Lakers vs. Pelicans matchup.

Following the excellent performance, Russell is now averaging 17.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game for the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

If he can continue playing at this level, it won’t be a surprise if the Lakers finally get out of the ninth spot in the Western Conference.

As of now, the Lakers have a 28-26 record as they are two games behind the eighth-seeded Dallas Mavericks.
