Davante Adams Shares His Thoughts On Jimmy Garoppolo’s Preseason Debut

The Las Vegas Raiders are slated to look significantly different in 2023 than they did in 2022.

For starters, Jimmy Garoppolo has taken over as quarterback, ending the reign of Derek Carr in this offense.

The addition of Garoppolo has received mixed reviews, with some viewing him as an upgrade and others believing he’s a lateral move.

After their second preseason game, Davante Adams expressed his opinion of Garoppolo in his debut.

“He had a lot of time off so it’s going to take a bit of adjusting to get back into it and learn new guys,” Adams said via Vic Tafur.

Whenever a quarterback joins a new team, it can provide growing pains for all involved.

While Garoppolo is a long-time veteran, Adams also recognized that he needs time to develop with his new teammates.

Adams later said, “You can see the growth over camp, I am proud of him.”

It appears his opinion of Garoppolo has grown, as he’s been able to hone his game throughout training camp.

This is great news for the Raiders, given potential reports of Adams’ unhappiness.

He joined the Raiders to be with Carr, who left after just one season together.

Hopefully Adams and Garoppolo can connect similarly to how he and Carr did in 2022, resulting in a great connection.

Recent reports have indicated that Josh Jacobs is back in the offense, another viable player at Garoppolo’s disposal.

Can the three-headed monster of Adams, Jacobs, and Garoppolo be enough for them to make a splash this season?
