Pro athletes are perhaps the highest-paid people in any profession in our society, and it gives them a lifestyle and the type of means and opportunities that 99.9 percent of other people could only dream of.

However, even the people at the top of society need to be held accountable, and in the NBA, that means being fined for engaging in certain actions.

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is certainly no stranger to being disciplined by the league, and while on “The Big Podcast” with Shaquille O’Neal, he complained about the fines the NBA levies and even said it isn’t set up for players to be wealthy when they stop playing.

“It’s actually not set up for us to be wealthy after we’re done playing.”

This season was a frustrating one for Green and his team, and he was involved in multiple infamous incidents.

The first one took place in November when he put Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves in a chokehold, something that resulted in an ejection, a five-game suspension and a $25,000 fine.

According to basketballnetwork.net, Green has forfeited over $2 million throughout his NBA career, a total that includes fines and salaries he has lost due to suspensions.

While that is a ton of money, it seems foolish for someone like him to complain about being fined when one considers the kind of money he makes.

Green made over $22 million this season, and even though he also mentioned the high taxes for those who earn seven or more figures in California, someone like him is certainly going to be set for life financially.
