Everyone’s Speculating About Eric Bieniemy After Andy Reid’s Admission

The Kansas City Chiefs could be getting a key reinforcement back.

With the Washington Commanders hiring Kliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy is now officially unemployed.

That led to plenty of speculation about a potential reunion with Andy Reid, and the coach’s latest statement only added more fuel to the fire.

As pointed out by Pete Sweeney, Reid confirmed that Bieniemy came in and talked to the players ahead of the AFC Championship.

The Chiefs replaced Bieniemy with Matt Nagy, and the results have been far from encouraging.

They’ve posted the worst offensive numbers in the Patrick Mahomes era, which is far from a surprise.

Even if Bieniemy failed to establish his offense in the nation’s capital in his lone season working under Ron Rivera, he’s still one of the brightest offensive minds in the game, as well as one of the architects behind the Chiefs’ dynasty.

He didn’t get enough credit because of the fact that Andy Reid was calling most of the plays, but they would’ve never found this level of success without him.

Now, the Chiefs would be wise to bring him back in some sort of capacity as an advisor ahead of the biggest game of the season.

Not only he would be a tactical and creative upgrade over Nagy, but he would also bring a big motivational boost for the players.
