Each year during the NFL Draft there seem to be a few veterans traded.
While no vets swapped teams on the first two days, we had a massive trade happen on Saturday.
The Detroit Lions traded running back D’Andre Swift to the Philadelphia Eagles for draft picks.

After the Lions selected running back Jahmyr Gibbs 12th overall, they needed to move a running back.
In the offseason, the Lions signed former Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery.
So it just seemed like Swift was the one man left out.
This is a move the Eagles usually make, they take good players from opposing teams on the cheap.
Also, adding Swift fits perfectly with what the Eagles have done during the draft, picking up Georgia players.

Swift is entering the final year of his rookie contract, so he will probably only be with the Eagles for one year.
Yet, he might be in for a career year in the best-rushing offense in the league.

Swift has yet to reach his potential in the NFL due to injury issues.
He has not been the most reliable player, as he has yet to play a full season.
Some people think this move will ultimately not change much.

It will be interesting to see how much usage Swift gets in this offense.
The Eagles signed Rashaad Penny in free agency, and still have Kenneth Gainwell on the roster.
It seems likely they will trot out a three-headed monster.
