After seeing both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving depart ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, the Brooklyn Nets found a way to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference.
Of course, they aren’t as dangerous as they were with their two controversial stars, but the Nets still know they have something good in their hands.
Mikal Bridges was one of the best players that arrived in Brooklyn in the Kevin Durant trade, and he’s ready to lead this team in the future.
Bridges played at a solid level during his first season with the Nets, and the team is set to keep him on the roster beyond this campaign according to The Athletic via NBA Central.

Following a tumultuous time with Durant and Irving, the atmosphere around the team feels different, and Bridges can become the leader of an exciting project at Barclays Center.
Cam Thomas, Nic Claxton, and Spencer Dinwiddie are some of the players that can help Bridges make this team a competitive squad.
Jacque Vaughn showed that he’s a good head coach this season, and without all the drama of the past, the Nets are set to make some noise in the next couple of seasons.
In 27 games with the Nets this season, Bridges averaged 26.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, taking the reins of the team and helping them reach the playoffs.
They lost in the first round of the playoffs but still left a good impression, and their fans should be excited about their future.
