The biggest quarterback competition going on right now in the NFL quite possibly is taking place with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson and former first-round pick Justin Fields were both brought in earlier this offseason after rough stops with other teams.
As the Steelers move toward their second preseason game, former NFL GM and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum offered his thoughts on who head coach Mike Tomlin will start heading into Week 1.
“I get the sense that Mike T is leaning towards Russell Wilson,” Tannenbaum said on “Get Up.”

This would make sense considering all of the success that Wilson has had in the NFL.
The nine-time Pro-Bowler is on the cusp of making the Pro Football Hall of Fame but may need to perform one last great act in the Steel City.
Losing out to Fields would be interesting considering the lack of success Fields had while with the Chicago Bears to start his NFL career.
After all, the Bears were just 10-28 in games started by Fields, and he had 41 total turnovers in his three seasons with Chicago.
But perhaps all he needed was a change of scenery, and it doesn’t get much better than going to play for a coach as accomplished and as successful as Tomlin.
With both Wilson and Fields looking to get plenty of playing time against the Buffalo Bills in their upcoming preseason game, look for the leader in the quarterback battle to start to reveal himself.
