Former Player Sounds Off On Lakers Using Mike Krzyzewski As Consultant

The Los Angeles Lakers are running out of options.

There aren’t that many coaching candidates that could legitimately make them a better team, at least with the way their roster is constructed, and they need to get things right this time.

That’s why they’ve brought in legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski to serve as an unofficial consultant.

Notably, that didn’t sit well with Tim Hardaway.

Talking on The Carton Show, the former All-Star took a big shot at Coach K, stating that he didn’t coach in the NBA because he knew he couldn’t do it and saying that he didn’t have a clue as to what was going on in players’ minds.

Plaxico Burress pointed out that Coach K had a close relationship with Kobe Bryant from their days with Team USA, so it was only natural that Rob Pelinka would also trust him.

Also, Coach K coached some of the greatest players in basketball history in USA Basketball, so it’s not like he’s completely unaware of NBA stars, their drive, and their mindsets.

Mike Krzyzewski is one of the most known and respected basketball minds we’ve seen, and he’s been around long enough to know everybody that matters in the American basketball coaching scene, whether it’s at the collegiate or professional level, so his input should always be welcome.

Still, the Lakers can’t afford to drop the ball again this time, especially if they want to bring in someone not only to take care of the end of the LeBron James era but also to lead them into the future.
