After a poor start to the 2023 season, the San Francisco Giants are suddenly heating up.
Some timely hits on Wednesday night helped them secure their fifth straight win and a series victory over the slumping St. Louis Cardinals.
After trailing 2-0 early, San Francisco busted out for seven runs and held on for a 7-3 win over St. Louis.
The Giants are now 11-13 and are only two games back of first place in the NL West.
After the game, the Giants got a little bit bold on Twitter, posting a graphic on Twitter featuring the final score, with the caption of the tweet reading: “Angry birds.”

This is of course a reference to the famous video game “Angry Birds.”
But there was a little bit more to it than just that.
The Giants were making a not-so-subtle jab at the Cardinals, who continued their implosion on Wednesday.
And the Giants are a team that has given the Cardinals fits in recent years.
San Francisco defeated St. Louis in the NLCS in 2012 and 2014 en route to two World Series titles.
The Giants simply continued their dominance over St. Louis on Wednesday by pulling off a series win.
And after the game, they had free reign to talk a little bit of smack, which they did, roasting the Cardinals for their poor performance.
San Francisco now has a chance to pull off a four-game sweep and move to within a game of the .500 mark.
