San Antonio Spurs rookie big man Victor Wembanyama is the NBA’s newest sensation, and many are predicting megastardom for him within a few short years.
He entered Friday averaging 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.2 blocked shots in 28.6 minutes per game, and he has overtaken the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Chet Holmgren to become the favorite in the race for the Rookie of the Year award.
But Wembanyama is also a man of the people, as he was seen reading to children at a local school in San Antonio, per Bleacher Report.

Last season, the 7-foot-4 phenom was impressing people while playing for Metropolitans 92, a pro team in France, and everyone was anxiously awaiting his entry into the NBA.
Many have described him as not only a once-in-a-generation prospect but also the greatest draft prospect since at least LeBron James in 2003.
Wembanyama stepped up his game in January by averaging 24.0 points in 26.7 minutes a game, and the truth is he’s barely scratching the surface of his immense potential.
Unfortunately for him, the Spurs have been one of the worst teams in pro basketball this season, and thus he has very little support around him.
Wembanyama has talked about wanting to win an NBA championship dating back to when he was drafted, something that is rarely heard from rookies.
Ironically, having little support around him could be one of the best things that could happen to him as a rookie, as it should earn San Antonio a very high draft pick and the opportunity to draft a potential co-star for him this June.
