At the end of the 2021-22 season, the Miami Heat were the top team in the East and had a strong 53-29 record.
This year, they are currently the seventh seed in their conference and have a 40-37 record.
Things have obviously changed for the worst for Miami and many people are wondering why.
Can fatigue be one of the reasons?
Speaking with reporters, Heat big man Bam Adebayo opened up when asked if he was surprised that the team has been having communication problems lately.
“No, because when guys are tired, that’s when they stop communicating,” Adebayo said.
Interesting soundbite from Bam after today’s practice about the Heat’s defense. Asked Bam if it’s surprising to be having communication problems this late in the season.

This isn’t exactly what fans of the Heat wanted to hear because it suggests that, yes, there are problems within the team’s communication style and, yes, they are tired.
It’s been a very long season so it’s not surprising to hear that the Heat players are fatigued.
But the most important part of the year is around the corner and they will need to shake this off before the postseason starts.
If things remain as they are now, the Heat will be pitted against the Boston Celtics in the opening round.
As everyone remembers, that’s the same team that took them out of playoffs last season.
And while the Heat have gotten worse, the Celtics have only gotten better so they would be quite a challenge.
The Heat are a team filled with multiple players and coaches who have plenty of postseason experience so they know what needs to be done to find success in the playoffs.
The fact that Abebayo and other players are aware that they’re tired should help them focus on gaining some stamina and strength in the weeks ahead.
