Matt Eberflus’ tenure in charge of the Chicago Bears hasn’t exactly been successful.
A lot of that has had to do with the way he and his staff have misused Justin Fields, and the team’s failure to take a step up on defense as well has been fairly disappointing.
So, with Eberflus reportedly “under evaluation” as his team sits on a 4-8 record, NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that the team could look to make a run at Washington Commanders assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Bieniemy left the Kansas City Chiefs for a bigger position in Washington, and some believed he was going to take over Ron Rivera if the team decided to part ways with him mid-season.
Also, with the Commanders going through an ownership change, some believe the front office could look to make some major changes in the offseason.
Rivera’s position isn’t safe either, so Bieniemy could have plenty of opportunities to choose from next season.
He hasn’t found much success with the Washington offense this season, but he comes with an impressive résumé as the architect of the Chiefs’ explosive offense.
The Bears could look to revamp that side of the field by adding two potential franchise cornerstones like WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and QB Caleb Williams in the upcoming NFL Draft, and that’s obviously an appealing situation for an offensive-minded coach like Bieniemy.
For now, Eberflus will have just five more games to prove himself and get one final chance in the Windy City.
