The New Orleans Pelicans took down the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, earning their latest win and bringing their record to 10-9.
A large part of Wednesday’s win was Zion Williamson, who had a historic showing with 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, shooting 11-of-12 from both the floor and the free-throw line.
Sitting in on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Shams Charania said that Williamson is on a whole other level this season.
“This is probably the best we’ve seen him,” Charania claimed.

Charania highlighted a huge change to Williamson and his style this year: he is playing as the team’s point guard for many possessions.
In the past, Williamson typically performed off the ball and did most of his work down low in the post, which made a lot of sense because of his immense size and strength.
But this season, he has been much more of a ball handler, focusing not only on scoring for himself, but also finding assists and helping his teammates out.
He has averaged 24 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists so far this season.
His rebounding average has dipped a bit while his assists average have ticked up.
He is focusing on being the best point guard possible and is doing incredibly well with that.
This change in the way that Williamson plays didn’t commence at the start of the season and it took a few games before head coach Willie Green committed to it.
Therefore, the Pelicans are not sitting at the top of the Western Conference standings as fans had hoped.
But they are moving in the right direction, having won their last six of nine games.
There will always be worries about injuries when it comes to Williamson but as of now, he looks very healthy and very committed to his new role on the team.
