The Pittsburgh Steelers made one of the most significant moves of the offseason by signing Russell Wilson.

When this move went down, fans and analysts expected him to be their starting quarterback, especially since the team moved on from Kenny Pickett.

While this could be the case, the team’s trade for Justin Fields has complicated things.

Dan Graziano recently appeared on “Get Up,” where he said, “Fields has a better QBR over the last two years,” adding, “he offers something with his legs that Russell doesn’t.”

While Wilson might have originally been thought to be a shoo-in for the starting gig, Graziano believes Fields will work hard to take it from him.

He also believes Fields has been the better quarterback over the past two years, including in terms of his rushing abilities.

Wilson was once known as an elite rushing quarterback, but that has not been the case in recent years.

Wilson might lose his job to the young quarterback if he is less mobile than he once was and his passing numbers don’t look good at a certain point in the season.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out for these two quarterbacks, mainly because the Steelers added both to the roster less than a week apart.

This indicates that the team is excited about both of them and would be okay with either taking the opportunity to be their starter for the 2024 season.

With any luck, the Steelers’ quarterback situation will be much better in 2024 than in 2023, giving them a better chance to compete.
